Celebrate Alberta’s diversity through Culture Days | Célébrez la diversité en Alberta à l’occasion des Journées de la culture

Many of the sites represent various cultural groups, including Indigenous, French Canadian, Chinese and East Asian that add to Alberta’s rich cultural tapestry. The sites also represent the arts through music, film, literature and dance.

“Culture defines who we are, how we live and what we think about ourselves. With such diversity in the cultural fabric of our province, Alberta Culture Days is an ideal opportunity for Albertans to learn about each other and ourselves. This year it is also about connecting with our community again in meaningful and positive ways as our province moves forward in our economic, social and emotional recovery.”Ron Orr, Minister of Culture

“We cannot deny how important the opportunity of celebrating the rich diversity of culture and harvest activities are to our region. Lacombe Culture and Harvest Festival is a celebration of arts, heritage, diversity, and community spirit that identifies the City of Lacombe and Lacombe County, as a region where everyone can experience something unique and different.”     Austin Weaver, executive director, Lacombe Regional Tourism Association

September is also Month of the Artist

This is also the second year in which the Month of the Artist, a celebration of our province’s artists and the economic and social value they bring to our province, is running in conjunction with Alberta Culture Days. Month of the Artist, along with the appointment of Alberta’s third Artist in Residence as an arts ambassador, is part of the government’s commitment to recognize artists’ contributions to the province.

Albertans and visitors can find a searchable calendar of events at albertaculturedays.ca.
